VR Construction Wrecker

One Game a Month 2024, submission 2/12

This was a two week homework assignment, as introduction, for my fourth semester Virtual- and Augmented Reality 1 class at Southern Denmark University.

Planned content:
Object dependencies, so objects will fall and shatter on collision with the ground if no longer supported by any structure.
Improved rope visuals and physics.

How to launch:
PC VR:
Download and Unzip ConstructionWrecker.rar.
Launch Steam VR , either through Oculus (Air)Link or Virtual Desktop.
Launch the .exe file in the ConstructionWrecker folder.

Standalone VR:
(I use Oculus Quest, but the process shouldn't differ too much)
Download the ConstructionWrecker.apk file. Load it onto a headset using SideQuest.
Find the application in the library, by changing the filter to "All Applications".
Launch the application.

How to play:
Use the Grip Triggers to grab either the ladder bars.
Climb the 70M tall ladder, while viewing your surroundings.
Use the Grip Triggers to grab the door handle on the crane cabin.
Use the Grip Triggers to grab and control the joysticks inside the crane cabin.
Take control of the massive wrecking ball, trough diegetic handles and buttons and smash the procedurally destructible meshes.

Be aware that the VR comfort settings are locked as:
Smooth movement with left hand analog.
Smooth turning with right hand analog.
No vignette.
